On Friday, 26,2,1404, an academic webinar titled “Navigating Light and Shadow: Women’s Mental Resilience in the Face of Challenges and Transformation” was successfully held with the participation of over 700 attendees, including the university’s administration, leadership team, professors, students, and both academic and administrative staff.
The program began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Ms. Zuhra Mirzad. Following that, Ms. Malalai Salangi and Ms. Suraya Halim warmly welcomed all attendees and highlighted the relevance and importance of the webinar’s topic.
Biography of the Guest Speaker
An introductory video about Professor Ana Maria Tost Bertran was presented by the University’s Publications Department.
Professor Ana Maria Tost Bertran, a highly esteemed retired psychology professor from the University of Barcelona, Spain, is a leading expert in clinical psychology with more than fifty years of academic and professional experience. She delivered valuable insights on psychotherapy and mental resilience. Throughout her professional journey, Professor Tost Bertran has taught at various institutions, including universities in France, Kabul University, and the University of Barcelona. Additionally, she was introduced as the clinical supervisor at the Counseling Clinic of the Faculty of Psychology at Woman Online University.
Presentation
Professor Adeleh Zamani, welcomed the participants and delivered a comprehensive presentation on the topic of the webinar, which included the following key points:

• Core traits of resilient individuals
• Key factors that contribute to the development of resilience
• Examples of personal and social challenges uniquely affecting women
Professor Zamani emphasized that mental resilience refers to the ability to cope with stress and adversity while maintaining emotional balance and achieving personal growth. Resilient individuals exhibit emotional flexibility, problem-solving skills, and a positive outlook. These capacities are supported by strong self-awareness, enabling them to identify their strengths and limitations and respond to challenges effectively.
