Biography of Mohammad Nasir Rafat
Mohammad Nasir Rafat is an Afghan physicis student, educator, and social entrepreneur from Bamyan Province, Afghanistan. After passing the national university entrance examination (Kankor), he studied Physics at Kabul University, earning his B.Sc. degree in 2021.
In 2018, he co-founded the Khedmat Social and Learning Organization in Bamyan, contributing to educational and community development initiatives for youth.
He later received a fully funded scholarship jointly supported by Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences and International Centre for Theoretical Physics, where he pursued graduate studies in Complex Systems Physics and Theoretical Computational Science, completing his M.Sc. degree in 2025. He also participated in the Spring College on the Physics of Complex Systems at ICTP in Trieste, Italy.
Since 2025, he has served as a Physics Instructor at Women’s Online University. His research interests include complex systems physics, statistical physics, nonlinear dynamics, computation-al modelling, and data-driven approaches to complex phenomena.
Alongside his academic work, he remains actively engaged in education, community develop-ment, and initiatives that expand access to quality learning opportunities.
