• Introduction
On Friday, May 15, 2026, an academic webinar titled “The Role of

Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in Transforming Education,

Opportunities, and Challenges” was held at Woman Online University

, attended by the university’s leadership team, professors, students,

and academic and administrative staff. The webinar aimed to enhance

participants’ understanding of the role of Generative Artificial

Intelligence (GenAI) in education, including its opportunities

and challenges. It also provided a valuable opportunity for

the exchange of academic ideas and experiences.

The program began with a recitation of verses from the Holy

Quran by Ms. Yalda Mohammadi. Following that, Ms. Iqra Omari

and Ms. Zarmina Sultani, warmly welcomed all attendees and

highlighted the relevance and importance of the webinar’s topic.

Following that, Ms. Najma Samkanai, Dean of the Faculty of

Medicine at Woman Online University, welcomed the participants

and delivered remarks on the growing role of artificial intelligence

in education. She emphasized the importance of the responsible

use of modern technologies in teaching and learning.

• Biography of the Presenter
An introductory video about Ms. Ulfat Rasoli was presented by the

University’s Publications Team.

• Presentation
Ms. Ulfat Rasoli delivered a comprehensive presentation on the role

of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in education. She explained

that GenAI has transformed traditional methods of teaching and

learning by making education more efficient, personalized, interactive,

and accessible. She further highlighted that AI-based technologies

facilitate access to educational resources and support more effective

learning opportunities for students. Artificial intelligence can also play

an important role in research, academic writing, creativity and innovation,

and the simplification of complex scientific concepts. Alongside these

opportunities, several challenges related to the use of artificial intelligence

were also discussed, including overreliance on technology, the spread of

inaccurate information, reduced critical thinking, and concerns related to

academic integrity. She also emphasized the importance of the

responsible and critical use of artificial intelligence in educational

environments.

Following the presentation, Ms. Ulfat Rasoli responded to participants’

questions, leading to a productive and engaging exchange of ideas.

Conclusion
At the end of the webinar, Ms. Nazifa Azimi, Dean of the Faculty of

Computer Science at Woman Online University, summarized the

key points of the session and appreciated the active participation

of all attendees. She emphasized the importance of continuing such

programs to enhance awareness and support learning and academic

development.
