Meeting of the Academic Council of the Woman Online University;
Subject of the meeting: Examining the issues which were raised in the Academic Council’s meeting;
Introduction:
The meeting of the Academic Council was held with the presence of Prof. Abdul Farid “Salangi” Chancellor and founder of the Woman Online University, Professor Adela “Zamani” Deputy-chancellor of the student affairs, Academic and expert staff of the university, and all the professors who are members of the Academic Council.
After the discussions and voting in the meeting of the Academic Council the following decisions were made:
1. Recruiting students based on the specified percentages of the scores:
Considering the importance of the development of the Woman Online University, it was decided that the programs and activities will be done according to the pre-specified percentages. These percentages include the general goals and characteristics of the quality of education that have been set for the university.
2. Regulating the academic calendar: It was decided that the beginning of the spring semester should be in the month of (March) every year.
3. Presenting transcripts to the students in English as an international language: it was decided to present students’ transcripts in English. This step makes it easy for students to use their transcripts wherever they need.
4. Avoid establishing of the new faculties and focusing on the improvement of the existing faculties:
Considering the limitations of the staff and available resources, it was decided to prevent the establishment of new faculties and to focus on the improvement of the existing faculties. This step is aimed at increasing the quality of education and research in the current faculties.
5. Conditions for recruiting professors:
for the recruitment of professors, it was decided that male professors must have at least a master’s degree and work experience, and female professors must have at least a bachelor’s degree and work experience. This decision was made with the aim of recruiting expert and experienced professors and improving the quality of education and research.
6. In holding seminars, conferences and the winter training program, firstly a proposal must be presented by the relevant faculty and it should be held after approval by the leadership board of the university.
In the end of the Academic Council’s meeting, more than 30 professors were interviewed who were applying to join the Woman Online university in various faculties.
