• Introduction
On Friday, 20/4/1404, an academic webinar titled “The Philosophy of Literature and the Need for Literary Associations” was successfully held, with the participation of over 500 attendees, including the university’s administration, leadership team, professors, students, and both academic and administrative staff.
The program began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Ms. Zuhra Mirzad Following that, Ms. Fawzia Stanikzai and Ms. Nabila Sadat warmly welcomed all attendees and highlighted the relevance and importance of the webinar’s topic.
Then Ms. Adeleh Zamani, Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs at Woman Online University, welcomed everyone and emphasized the vital role literature plays in preserving Afghanistan’s cultural identity. She highlighted how literature, through oral and written forms like poetry, folklore, and storytelling, acts as a repository of the country’s history, values, and traditions. Literature helps maintain cultural continuity, fosters a sense of belonging, and offers a means of expressing resilience during difficult times.
Following her, Mr. Saduddin Muhammadi, Head of the Faculty of Language and Literature, also welcomed the attendees and highlighted the important role of literature in promoting both academic growth and cultural awareness. He praised the Literary Association for inspiring creativity, encouraging intellectual development, and strengthening students’ connection to Afghan literature and heritage.

He described literature as the language of emotion—a way to express feelings and bring imagination to life. He further explained that literature guides us toward truth by linking us with philosophy, art, and science.
Following that, Ms. Rakya Habil recited a beautiful poem and shared valuable insights about the activities of the Banno Literary Academy. Additionally, Ms. Husna Fazli, Ms. Farahnaz Orakzai, Professor Sayeda Sadat, and Ms. Sayeda Azizi offered meaningful reflections on the importance of literature.
